the beginning of a book is the best part.
because when you're on page one,
you don't know what's coming.
anything can happen and you'll accept it.
because at that point, it's all part of the story.
you don't know what you want to happen.
you've begun forming an opinion that's subject to change.
and when it does, you'll love it that much more.
because then it has a history.
it's changed.
and in the process,
it's changed you.
i can't help but feel like i've just opened the best book i've yet to read.

WE'RE ALL YOUNG AT HEART
Gemma and i listened to this song while we learned about each other.
i think it's my favorite music video.
i love the elderly.
when i worked at Apple, my favorite thing to do was come in early on saturdays and teach JP Hughes and Dee Darling how to use their computers. we covered everything from editing a photo, to emailing that photo, to posting it on facebook. being around older guys like them, and doing the things we were doing, made me realize that we're all young at heart. and i love how this music video really shows that.

NERD BATTLE
i'm in cs one forty two right now.
i have my headphones in (class hasn't quite started)
but i'm not really listening to music.
why?
because the most epic nerd battle i've ever seen is happening right in front of my eyes.
it's a battle between visual studio and emacs.
only true nerds fight over which which programming environment is truly superior.
i so wish you could hear this right now...
